String Day at Pimlico Academy
Students from Churchill Gardens Primary Academy played alongside students from Pimlico Primary at String Day, a concert at Pimlico Academy on Wednesday, 27 June.
The day was run by the Pimlico Academy Music Department, who regularly organise concerts and performances around London to maintain a positive relationship with the community.
The String Day featured a whole range of musical instruments and a whole host of Classical music gems. Music is one of the many subjects taught at Churchill Gardens, as we believe it is important for developing a child's creativity and enriching their sense and understanding of the world.
Students, staff and parents from three Future Academies schools were in attendance: these included Churchill Gardens Primary Academy, Pimlico Academy and Pimlico Primary.
The String Day is one of a number of concerts hosted at Pimlico Academy throughout the year. Churchill Gardens students are also looking forward to attending the Summer Festival at the Academy on Thursday 12 July.
Churchill Gardens has a close relationship with Pimlico Academy, where nearly all of our pupils subsequently go on to attend. Concerts such as this provide pupils with an exciting opportunity to visit a secondary school, and feel part of a wider school community.
