We encourage all our children to eat the healthy and well-balanced school meal that is prepared on the premises. Every day, a range of nutritious food is offered, and specific dietary needs, such as halal meat, are catered for.
The cost of lunches is subsidised for all children and is without charge for children entitled to free school meals. From September 2014, all children below seven years of age are also entitled to free lunch.
Children may bring a packed lunch if they prefer. It should contain a balanced meal with no crisps, chocolate, sweets or fizzy drinks.
We ask for one term’s notice of a child’s intention to change between school lunch and packed lunch.
Children in Nursery receive a carton of milk each day, free of charge. Children from Nursery to Year 2 are given a free piece of fresh fruit each day. Pupils may also bring fruit from home to eat at morning break time. No other food is allowed in school.
